Paul graduated with a degree in sports science from Loughborough University in 2000 where he developed an interest in sports biomechanics and sports injury. He went on to qualify as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 2005 from Manchester University. Since then he has worked in the NHS and focused on gaining a wide experience in orthopaedic medicine and musculoskeletal injuries.
During this time Paul has continued to study, gaining a certificate in orthopaedic medicine and qualifying in acupuncture with further courses in its use in soft tissue release. He has also attended conferences in the treatment of chronic pain and taken courses in the management of chronic conditions. During his physiotherapy career he has developed an interest in the science of running injuries keeping up to date with current scientific research around running injury and biomechanics.
Outside of work Paul has always been a keen sportsman and played rugby union for Penrith as well as for Cumbria in sevens tournaments. After retiring from rugby he took up fell running and now enjoys ticking off routes and summits in the lakes. It is this interest and his sporting background that has led to Paul specialising in the treatment and prevention of running injuries.
